Interactive Purge Lists from ProTrack

This article shows you how to set up and send an interactive purge list from ProTrack to help clear out media deck space.

An interactive purge list is what it sounds like: a list of files selected to be purged out of a node's system. You can find the window by opening ProTrack and navigating to "logs", "automation interface", and "interactive purge list".

From here, you want to select "play" from the "storage location" drop down menu, which is what ProTrack calls the media decks. Then you need to choose a safe date for "not scheduled after" so that we're not purging out media needed for upcoming airdates; a week before the current date works.

ProTrack will then ask if you want to exclude media with a purged status. You should select "no" so that you can view anything still found on the decks whether it has a purged status or not.

Once you make your selections, the search might take a little while to complete. When it does, a list will generate that you can select from for deletion. Make sure you are only selecting media with package numbers so that we're not touching local items. To select an item, click in the box to the left of the ID and either right-click or hit the space bar.

After you've made all of your selections, click "tools" at the top and then "export file", or hit F9. This will start the process of purging out each selected item on the list.
